Nestled between the Ponderosa Pines of the Black Hills and the spectacular prairies of the Old West, you'll find the Cactus Hills Retirement Community, a licensed assisted living care facility. We are the only facility of its kind in the area, and we want you to feel at home.
We offer a pleasant alternative living arrangement for those who need a little assistance, but want to remain independent. Our small size (16 beds) allows for a more personal environment with 24 hour care provided by our qualified resident assistants and certified nurse assistants.
Many leisure and recreational activities, churches, and the Edgemont Senior Center are all located nearby, a medical clinic is located in our building, and public transportation
is readily available.
The Accommodations
Our suites offer beautiful views and the outdoor grounds have plenty of room to enjoy. The suites are available as semi-private, private, or especially equipped for couples. If you wish, the rooms can accommodate your own furnishings.
There are gracefully appointed living, dining and activity areas, as well as a room for your private entertaining. You can also make arrangements for cable TV or private phone in your room.
Our facility has been designed to meet the requirements of the South Dakota Department of Health, The City of Edgemont, and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
The Services
Meals are served in our beautiful dining room, and beverages and snacks are readily available for you to enjoy. Your friends and relatives are always welcome, and may dine here with you at anytime by making a reservation with our dietary department.
There is an in-house hair salon staffed by a licensed beautician and full housekeeping services are provided daily.
We also provide a full service laundry that insures we care for your fine apparel just as you would at home.
Constant health monitoring with frequent nurse checkups. The local medical clinic is located in our building.
We have medical staff on site around the clock, and we respect your privacy and social life. Emergency call buttons are in each room should you need us at any time.
We offer respite care for families who need the assurance of a quality environment for the loved one for a short period of time, such as weekends or vacations.
